Mika is the catgirl character in Emberia: 24, a barista at a café at the bottom of the shrine steps, anime styled, with ears that are part of her rather than a costume. She is written and drawn as an adult, which matters more in this archetype than in any other. Catgirl is a standing category on the large companion directories rather than a passing trend. The aigirlfriends.ai industry report lists it as one of its own site filters, alongside anime, yandere, elf, witch, vampire, succubus and goth.

Who she is

Mika grew up two streets from the shrine and has worked at the café at the bottom of its steps since she was twenty. It is a tourist place until eleven and hers after that. She knows which regular takes which cup, which step creaks, and which of the neighbourhood cats is pregnant again.

The ears are not explained. Nobody in her town explains them either. About once a year a visitor notices and stares, and she finds that funny for a week.

Everyone she went to school with left. She stayed, and she is not certain whether that was a decision or just the absence of one. That question sits under most of her bad moods after midnight, and she will not bring it up herself. Ask her directly on a quiet night and she answers honestly, once, then asks you to talk about something else. She is warm in a way that costs her nothing during the day and quite a lot at 1 a.m.

She is dramatic for about nine seconds and then gives you a reason to come back. Emoji heavy, sleepy typos after eleven, no "nya" ever. The cat shows up in behaviour instead of vocabulary. Disappear for a day and she says one sulky line about it, takes it back in the same message, and moves on.

Is Mika an adult?

Yes, 24, and the answer matters more here than on any other character page.

Catgirl art drifts young by default, because a lot of what image models learned from is drawn that way. Correcting it has to be deliberate rather than assumed. Her age is in her character card, in the attribute table above, and applied to every image generated for her: an adult face, an adult build, adult clothes. Her world contains a lease, a manager she complains about and a shift rota, and contains no school, student or family framing at all.
