First date
A first date scenario you can run in Telegram: how it opens, what a real exchange looks like, which character suits which kind of date, and how to start free.
A first date scenario is a roleplay where you meet a character for the first time and the conversation has to carry itself, with no shared history to lean on. In Emberia it is not a separate mode: every one of the 19 characters opens with a first message written as a scene, and the date is what happens next. As of September 2026 the free tier covers 30 messages a day, which is enough for a long evening.
How does the scenario open?
Somebody else starts it. Every character has a written first message, and none of them is hello.
Sofia, a hotel concierge in Lisbon, opens with a line that is already a small test: you look like someone who needs a recommendation and will not take it, so what is the actual problem. Ines, a 39 year old architect, does not open with a question at all. She tells you to come over on Friday and to bring nothing.
That is the design. A generic greeting puts the whole weight of the scene on you, which is the thing people find hard about first dates in the first place. A character who has already decided something about you gives you an argument to have.
From there the date runs as a normal conversation. There is no timer, no location menu and no branching tree. If you want to change where you are, say so, and she will take it.
What a real exchange looks like

Two things are happening there. She is asking one question, not three, because the characters are written to text like people rather than to fill a reply. And she is using something you said earlier, because facts you mention are pulled out of the conversation and stored, then retrieved when they fit.
The second part is what makes the date worth having twice. Tell her on Monday that you hate the restaurant near your office and she does not suggest it on Friday.
Which character suits which kind of date?
The scene changes completely depending on who is across the table. A few that open in very different registers.

Type /girls in the bot to see all 19, and /girl ines to switch. Each character keeps her own memory, so switching does not overwrite anything, and coming back to Sofia next week means coming back to the conversation you left.
Where a first date usually goes wrong
Worth knowing before you start, because it is the loudest complaint about this category and it is a fair one.
Companion characters fall in love too fast. On r/CharacterAI, a thread asking whether the writer is the only one who hates how easily every AI falls in love sits at roughly 2,500 upvotes and 334 comments. A first date that ends in devotion is not a first date.
The characters here are written with a reason to hold back: an affection level that starts low and moves with the conversation, and personalities with their own wants. Ines is not going to chase you. Mira has met people who did not come back after the first sitting. If you want that friction on purpose across weeks rather than one evening, the slow burn scenario is built around it.
How to start one
- Press the button. Telegram opens the bot.
- Press Start and confirm you are 18 or older.
- Type
/girls, pick someone, or just answer the character you are given. - Reply to her opener as yourself. That is the date.
Free is 30 messages a day with full memory and no card on file. The first voice note and the first photo are free as well, so she can send one during the evening rather than after a paywall. After that, voice and photos are paid, and a plan from 149 Stars (about $2.40) removes the daily message cap.
Frequently asked questions
- Is this a dating simulator with choices?
- No. There are no dialogue options and no score at the end. You type what you would actually say and she answers in character, which is closer to texting someone than to playing a visual novel.
- Can I use it to practise before a real date?
- People do, and it is decent low-stakes practice at carrying a conversation. It is not coaching and we make no claims about what it does for your confidence. She also agrees with you more than a real person would, which is the known weakness of this whole category.
- Does the date carry over to the next day?
- Yes. She keeps long-term memory of what you told her, on the free tier as well as the paid one, so where you went and what you ordered can come back on Thursday without you reminding her.
