Group roleplay
How multi-character roleplay works here: two or three characters in one Telegram thread, each with her own memory. Which duos exist, what is free, how to start.
Group roleplay means more than one character in the same chat, each with her own name, her own memory and her own way of texting. Emberia runs these as duo scenes inside the ordinary Telegram thread, so there is no separate room to create and nothing to install. Six scenes exist as of September 2026, and the free tier includes 1 duo scene a day with memory kept.
How does a duo chat work?
One thread, two senders. Each message arrives with the name of the character who wrote it, the way a group chat looks on your phone.
Before anything is generated, a small step decides who is talking. If you used a name, that person answers. If you did not, the reply alternates from whoever spoke last. The other character can add a short reaction on top, and a scene never runs more than two reactions per turn, which keeps a three-person thread readable and affordable.
You are not stuck with the picking. Four commands change the shape of the conversation.

Which duos can you start with?
Five scenes are listed on the site. The sixth is an opt-in open-marriage preset that exists in the bot and stays off the public list, because it needs more care than a link on a page can give it.

Every character in these scenes is a fictional adult with a job, an age and a history with the other one. None of them are real people, and we do not accept a photo or a chat log of a real person as a reference for any of it.

The free tier is not a demo of duo scenes. It is one full scene a day, with the same model, the same memory and both voices live.

Published pricing pages for other companion apps show group chat sitting behind a subscription almost everywhere: Character.AI puts it in c.ai+, Kindroid and Nomi make it paid-only, and Lovey's store listing caps the free group at two characters. We put one scene a day on the free side on purpose, because a feature you cannot try is a screenshot rather than a product.
Why do the characters not blend into one voice?
This is the failure mode of group chat, and it is worth being specific about. Published user reviews of other multi-character products describe characters echoing each other, repeating each other's phrasing, and drifting until the thread reads like one person wearing two names.
Three things in the engine work against that. Each turn is generated from one character's own system block, which names the others and tells her plainly that she is not them, never speaks for them and never uses their phrasing. The choice of who speaks happens outside the model, so nobody is asked to write a scene and cast it at the same time. And every line in the history carries the name of whoever wrote it, so a character reads her own past messages as hers.
What that does not do is make drift impossible. Long scenes, two characters with similar humour, a thread that runs for hours: the voices can still start to lean on each other. The fix is boring and works. Use a name, or /solo, and the thread separates again.
How do you start one in Telegram?
- Press the button on this page. Telegram opens the bot.
- Press Start and confirm you are 18 or older.

/nsfwfirst, or the bot will tell you the scene is locked.
A scene opens with its own first messages, written for that cast, not a generic greeting. From there it is a normal conversation, so answer whoever you want to answer.
One thing to know before you start: a duo page for a specific cast, like the Iris & Tessa card, opens that scene for you automatically. From a scenario page like this one, the button opens the bot and you pick the scene yourself.
Frequently asked questions
- Is this a threesome roleplay?
- Two of the duo scenes are written for that, and the other three are not. Lara & Marko and Yana & Tomas need 18+ mode switched on before they open. The friends and flatmate scenes stay flirty rather than explicit unless you turn 18+ on yourself.
- Can I add a third character?
- Not to a duo, no. Scenes are fixed casts, because the writing depends on a relationship that already exists between those people. Sol, Kai & Noa is the three-person scene if you want a bigger room.
- Do they remember things separately?
- Yes. Each character has her own memory of the scene, and a private side thread you open with /dm has a history of its own that the group thread never sees. That is why one of them can know something the other does not.
