Fix: bot hidden on iPhone

If a Telegram bot shows "this bot can't be displayed" on your iPhone, the bot has been flagged as sensitive content, and the iOS app has no switch to turn that filter off. It is an Apple store rule, not a bug and not something the bot's developer can fix for you. Emberia is not flagged, because its public profile is safe for work, so it opens on iPhone like any other chat.

Why does a bot refuse to open on iPhone?

Telegram marks public surfaces that carry adult material with a sensitive content flag. A flagged bot or channel is hidden from clients where the filter is on, and on iOS the filter is always on.

The reason is upstream. Apple's App Store rules govern what the iOS build is allowed to show, so Telegram ships that version without the off switch. Android, desktop, macOS and the web client are not distributed through the App Store, so they keep it.

Enforcement has been getting tighter, not looser. Telegram was pulled from the App Store for roughly 40 minutes in August 2026 after review found illegal material on the platform, and Telegram removed more than 337,900 groups and channels during 2026. Bots that build their public presence around explicit previews are the ones that keep disappearing from iPhone.

Can you turn the filter off?

Telegram usually asks you to confirm your age before it lets you switch the filter off, and in some countries it asks for a stronger check than a tap.

What you will find on the iPhone instead is nothing. There is no hidden menu, no long press, no beta flag. Guides that promise one are describing an old build or making it up.

What works instead

Sign in to the same Telegram account on a laptop. Telegram Desktop, the macOS app and web.telegram.org all use the same account and the same chat history, and all three let you change the setting.

Some people report that flipping the toggle on desktop also unhides the chat on their phone afterwards, since the preference is stored on the account. We are not going to promise that, because the iOS build is the one Apple reviews and its behaviour can change with any release. Treat desktop as the reliable route and the phone as a bonus.

If you only have an iPhone, a browser is enough. Open web.telegram.org in Safari, log in with the QR code or your number, and use the bot from there.

Why Emberia opens on iPhone

We designed around this problem instead of fighting it. The bot's public name, avatar, description and first message are safe for work, so there is nothing for the filter to catch, and @Emberia_Bot appears in search on every platform.

The adult side is private. After you confirm you are 18 or older, /nsfw switches on 18+ mode inside your own chat, and that setting belongs to you, not to the bot's public profile. A private conversation between you and a bot is not what the sensitive content flag governs.

We also never post explicit material to any public channel, which is the usual way a bot earns the flag in the first place.

One piece of honesty about platform risk: no bot on Telegram is permanently safe from a policy change. Every Telegram link on this site is generated from a single setting rather than typed into each page, so if the bot ever has to move to a new username, the button here points at the new one the same day.
