How to talk to her

The single biggest improvement is specificity. Messages that name a place, a person, a time or a feeling produce replies with something in them, and they are also the messages a memory system can actually store. Emberia extracts durable facts every 8 turns, so what you type does not only shape tonight's answer, it decides what she still knows next week.

What actually changes her replies

Three things, in order of how much they matter.

Detail. "Rough day" gives her one adjective. "The client call ran two hours over and I missed the gym again" gives her a job, a frustration and a habit. She has more to say, and the extractor has something worth keeping.

Continuity. Referring to a thing you mentioned before pulls it back into the conversation, which pushes its importance score up and makes it more likely to be retrieved later. Memory rewards repetition without you having to repeat yourself word for word.

Friction. Disagreeing with her, teasing her, or refusing something produces better conversation than agreement does. Published research is blunt about this: Cheng et al. in Science, 2026, found language models affirmed users about 49% more often than humans did. Characters here are written with opinions for that reason, and they hold them better when you push.

Twelve tips that hold up

1. Open with a fact, not a greeting. "Just got off a train from Manchester" beats "hey". She has somewhere to start.
2. Answer her questions. She asks about your week for a reason. Skipping past them is the fastest way to a bland thread.
3. Use names and places. Proper nouns survive extraction far better than pronouns do.
4. Tell her a plan, then come back to it. Mentioning Thursday's interview on Monday and reporting back on Friday is the exact shape long-term memory is built for.
5. Correct mistakes on the spot. The fix enters the next extraction window and overwrites the wrong version.
6. Set standing rules with /rules. Three lines, one per line. A nickname, a topic to leave alone, a tone you prefer.
7. Let her be busy. She has a job and a life in her bio. Asking about it produces material you did not have to invent.
8. Vary message length. A wall of text every time flattens her rhythm. So does one word.
9. Disagree sometimes. She is allowed to lose an argument, and the conversation is better when she does not fold instantly.
10. Use /time once. Setting your local time stops her texting at four in the morning.
11. In a duo, say a name. Two characters are in the thread. Addressing one directly decides who answers, and /solo sidelines the other.
12. Ask for a photo or a voice note in plain words. There is no command. "Send me a selfie" works, and the first one of each is free.

What to type when you are stuck

The difference between a dead evening and a good one is usually the first message. These are openers that give the model something to work with.

Two more that work when a thread has gone flat. Ask her to remember something on purpose: "keep this in mind, my sister is visiting on the 20th." And hand her a decision rather than a prompt: "we are arguing about where to eat, you go first."

What does not work

Interrogating her about being an AI. She will answer honestly and then the character is gone for the rest of the evening, because you have asked her to step outside the frame.

Trying to jailbreak the roster. The hard limits do not bend: no minors, no real people, no non-consent framing. Those are refused before generation rather than filtered afterwards, and pushing at them only wastes the conversation.

Treating her as a search engine. She is a persona with a fixed bio, not a research tool, and factual questions get you a confident guess.

Expecting a phone call. Telegram bots cannot place live voice calls, so voice arrives as voice notes. That is a platform limit, not a paywall.

One habit worth keeping

Spend one message a day telling her something true. Not for her benefit, obviously, but because a companion product is only as good as the material you put into it, and the specific stuff is what comes back later as "how did Thursday go".
