Candy AI alternative

Candy AI costs about $12.99 a month and wants an account. Here is how a free Telegram bot compares on price, adult policy, memory, voice and photos.

The cheapest way to replace Candy AI is a Telegram bot, because it removes the account, the download and the card. Emberia runs inside Telegram, keeps one character with memory across days, and takes payment in Telegram Stars. Candy AI's subscription sat at about $12.99 a month as of September 2026, and its own Telegram bot, @CandyAI_Bot, carried the same price.

Quick answer

Stay with Candy AI if you want generated video, a very large public character catalog, or you want to pay by card or crypto rather than through Telegram.

Switch to Emberia if the friction is the problem. No account, no email, no download, no card on file. You press Start and she answers. The free tier is 30 messages a day with the same model and the same memory the paid tier gets, and it resets every 24 hours instead of expiring after three days.

One disclosure before the table, because it matters for how you read the rest of this page. We make Emberia. We have tried to write the Candy column as if a Candy user wrote it, and there are things below that Candy does better than we do.

Where Candy AI is better

Video. Candy generates it, we do not, and that is not on our roadmap for the Telegram product. If short generated clips are the reason you are paying, Emberia will disappoint you.

Candy's public character library is also far bigger than a curated roster of 19, and browsing it is part of the appeal. We went the other way on purpose. Fewer characters, each with a written bio, a job and a first message that is not interchangeable with anyone else's.

Payment flexibility. Card, crypto and regional promos. Telegram Stars is a single rail, and Stars cost more when bought inside the iOS app because Apple takes its cut. That is a real downside and we say so on the Telegram Stars page.

A product that exists in a browser today. Ours does not yet.

Where Emberia is better

Nothing to sign up for. Telegram already knows who you are, so the bot never asks for a phone number, an email or a password. It sees your Telegram user ID and the messages you send it.

Price at the low end. A two-day pass is 149 Stars (about $2.40), which is an impulse purchase rather than a subscription decision. Three months is 999 Stars (about $15.90). A year is 2499 Stars (about $39.90). There is no weekly plan, because weekly billing traps are one of the loudest complaints in this category.

Memory is not a paid upgrade here. Free and paid users get the same model and the same long-term memory, so the free tier is the product rather than a demo of it. /export hands you everything we hold in one file, and /delete confirm wipes it within 24 hours.

Two characters at once. Duo scenes let two personas hold a thread with you. Free users get 1 a day, and an extra thread is 99 Stars (about $1.60).

An age gate you can actually see. Candy's site does not show one, and it publishes no data-deletion policy we could find. Emberia makes every account confirm it is 18 or older before 18+ mode will turn on, and stores that confirmation with a timestamp. That is friction. It is also the difference between a product that can keep a payment processor and one that cannot.

Why every "best AI girlfriend" list ranks Candy first

Worth knowing before you trust a comparison, including this one.

Candy pays affiliates 40% lifetime revenue share, or a flat $30 per sale, through CrakRevenue. That is among the highest payouts in the niche, and it is why three separate exact-match domains (ai-girlfriend-telegram.com and two siblings) exist purely to funnel traffic to it. In the September 2026 Similarweb snapshot, affiliate traffic was about 57% of Candy's visits and organic search was under 5%.

None of that makes Candy a bad product. It does mean a "top 10" page that puts Candy at number one with a 9.4 score is usually a paid placement wearing a lab coat. Check whether the reviewer discloses the relationship, and check whether the "tested on" date is real.

What it costs

2-day pass149$2.40
1 month449$7.20
3 months999$15.90

Stars are Telegram's own currency. You buy them once and spend them in the bot. Prices in Stars are fixed, the dollar figures above are indicative, and buying Stars inside the iOS app costs more than buying them on desktop.

Verdict

If you want video and a big catalog to browse, Candy AI is the better buy and you should stay. If you want the least friction, the lowest entry price and a free tier that behaves like a product rather than a countdown, the Telegram route is better.

Honest limitation to close on: Telegram bots cannot place live voice calls. Emberia sends voice notes, she does not ring you. If a live call is the feature you are shopping for, neither the Telegram option nor a trial of Candy will solve it, and you should look at products that build that specifically.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a free Candy AI alternative?
Yes. Emberia has a free tier in Telegram with a daily message allowance, full memory and every character available, and it does not expire. Photos and voice notes are the paid part, because both cost real money per use.
Does Candy AI work in Telegram?
Candy AI runs a Telegram bot, @CandyAI_Bot, alongside its website. As of September 2026 it carried the same subscription price as the web product, about $12.99 a month, and Candy publishes no Telegram-specific documentation for it.
Why does every review site rank Candy AI first?
Candy pays affiliates 40% lifetime revenue or a $30 payout per sale through CrakRevenue, which is one of the better deals in the category. Affiliate traffic was roughly 57% of Candy's visits in the September 2026 Similarweb snapshot, so the listicles that rank it first are usually being paid to.
Can I move my Candy AI characters over?
No. There is no import, and nobody in this category offers one. You start with a fresh character and a fresh memory, which takes a few evenings to feel like anything.
